Ministry Updates
God in on the move here at Shoreline in a variety of different ways. We have a number of new ministries and we want to keep you aware of these, and ask for your prayers. From time to time, we will provide updates on new ministries and ways we can pray for them, as well as updates on existing ministries undergoing changes. Below find some exciting new things God is doing in our church
Junior High
We have begun a Jr. High Bible study and are going through the Gospel of John right now. We are meeting on Wednesdays from 3:30PM to 5:30PM. We just got done watching The Left Behind movie and the students really interacted during the question time. It was really neat to see that they were and are stirred up about being left behind and what that means to them. Pray tha tGod would build and grow this vital ministry here at Shoreline. Metamorph (High School)
Our new High School group (Metamorph) is going through the book of Acts. We have been talking about Paul, Steven and other people within Acts. We meet on Wednesdays from 6:00PM to about 8:00PM. We have a good time talking, playing pool and bumper pool before our time of diving into the Word of God. Exciting and fun events are being planned. Our new College ministry, AXIS is learning that The Truth is at hand! We are walking through the Truth Project right now. We just got done with the first tour, which was about Truth. What is Truth? Where did Truth come from? Questions like that. It has been exciting to see how we as a group have been growing. We meet at my apartment (meaning Jen and Jon's apartment) on Thursday nights 6:30-8:30. Come and meet everyone if you are indeed a college student. Call Pastor Jon if you know af a college student who might be interested in coming.

A Young Couples group has begun!
We have begun a young couples/young family's ministry here at Shoreline in the last few months. They meet every OTHER Friday at 6:00PM. The next meeting is Friday February 27th. Bring your children (if you have them ?). If you are interested in being a part of this new and growing ministry, or know someone who might be, contact Keith and Heather Purvis at 275-1934. Pray that God would bless this wonderful new fellowship that has just begun. Meeting place: 95 Willow Springs Lane, #104, Goleta. Call for directions.

Sunday Adventures in Narnia
Beginning Sunday, February 15th, our newly decorated Chronicles of Narnia themed class will be available for viewing by our children. Using CS Lewis' beloved Chronicles of Narnia books as inspiration, many people have worked hard over the last few months to design and create a "Narnia" like atmosphere for our Sunday Adventures in Narnia Sunday morning Children's Ministry. We will use this to help attract more children to our Children's Ministry. We are averaging 35-40 children a week in our Sunday Children's ministry (nursery-6th grade), but are praying God will add more. Could God be calling you to be involved? If so, call Diane Martinez at 966-1962. Pray that God would draw more children here to Shoreline and provide the teachers and helpers to help.

We have bought a low-mileage used church van for our children's and youth ministries, but we also hope to use it for a variety of ministries within our church. Adult Bible Fellowship trips? Picking up Westmont students every Sunday morning? Taking our children's ministries kids to a fun park? Taking our youth group to youth camps? Taking our college ministry ton retreats? Please pray that this vehicle would further enhance our ability to minister to people.

New Nursery Coordinator!
Heather Purvis has stepped down as our nursery coordinator to concentrate on coming baby #3? Thankfully, Jen Harris has stepped forward to take on theis important responsibility. We will be making some new changes to accommodate the needs of our growing young families. If you are willing to help in this crucial area, please contact Jen at (619) 277-4882.

Bringing back the Hymn Sing!
Yes, they are coming back, our FAVORITE HYMNS. In answer to our prayers, Carol McNiel has agreed to lead a monthly pre-service Hymn sing. Beginning on Sunday, March 15th we will have a Hymn sing every 3rd Sunday of the month. They will begin at 10:05 and end at 10:25. Carol is looking for helpers such as song leaders, responsive reading leaders, instrumentalists, singers, groups or quartets or trios (for specials we can have), but mostly she's looking for your enthusiasm for requests and...YOU! Please call Carol McNiel if interested in serving in some way. 684-3777.
